A Happy Vacation

A cheerful vacation spent away from daily routine — new places, good food, lazy mornings, and simple moments that make the heart feel light.

Vacation is a special word. It means a break from school, work, and all the busy things we do every day. It means waking up without an alarm, wearing comfortable clothes, and doing whatever makes us happy. I love vacations because they give me time to breathe, to laugh, and to make happy memories with the people I love. Even a small vacation feels like a gift of time.

This vacation was simple but very joyful. I did not go to any faraway country or fancy resort. I just spent a few days in a quiet place with my family. We stayed in a small hotel with a pretty garden and a balcony where I could sit in the morning and drink tea. The air was fresh, and the birds sang loudly. Everything felt slower and calmer. I did not have to check my phone or worry about tasks. I just lived in the moment.

Every day on vacation had its own little joys. In the morning, I woke up late and ate a slow breakfast. Sometimes we had crispy toast and butter, sometimes hot parathas with curd, and sometimes fresh fruit on a clean plate. My mother smiled more, my father told old stories, and we all laughed at silly jokes. After breakfast, we sometimes went out to see a nearby temple, a small market, or a park with green trees. Other times, we just rested at the hotel and talked.

One of my favourite parts was the evening walks. After the sun became soft, we walked along a quiet road. The breeze felt cool, and the sky turned pink and orange. Small shops opened their lights, and the smell of snacks filled the air. We stopped at a tea stall and shared hot tea and biscuits. My aunt bought a little snack, and my brother made funny faces to make us laugh. These small moments felt like treasures. They did not cost much, but they filled my heart.

Vacation also gives me time to think. Sitting on the balcony, watching the trees move in the wind, I thought about how lucky I am. I have a family that loves me, food to eat, and a chance to rest. Sometimes life is too busy, and we forget to notice these things. But on vacation, I remember. I remember that happiness is not always about big things. It is often about a warm cup of tea, a shared laugh, and a quiet evening with people you care about.

When the vacation ended, I felt a little sad but also very thankful. I packed my bags, took one last look at the garden, and promised myself to carry the peaceful feeling back home. I know I will soon return to daily work and routine, but this break gave me fresh energy. Vacations are not just about going somewhere. They are about feeling free, even for a few days. I hope everyone gets a vacation like this — simple, happy, and full of love.
