How a newspaper story about a mango orchard on barren land changed the way I look at business.

One day, I was reading an article in a newspaper when I came across a story about Mukesh Ambani and Reliance’s mango orchard in Jamnagar. The story caught my attention because it was not only related to business but also showed me how an existing challenge can sometimes lead to a different and creative solution.

From Barren Land to a Mango Orchard

Reports about the Jamnagar project describe how Reliance developed a large mango orchard on previously barren land around its refinery in the late 1990s, as part of efforts connected with creating a green belt and addressing environmental concerns.

I found this idea very interesting because instead of simply considering the barren land as useless, it was transformed into something productive. For me, this showed that sometimes a business decision can begin by looking at an existing problem from a different point of view.

Over time, the land was transformed into a large mango orchard. The scale of this transformation is one of the things that inspired me the most. It showed me how proper planning, management, technology, and continuous effort can change the value and purpose of a place.

Reliance’s Journey and the Story of Jio

When I read more about Mukesh Ambani, I also became interested in his journey in the business world. Reliance has expanded into different sectors, including oil and petrochemicals, telecommunications, retail, digital services, and new energy.

One example that I found particularly interesting was the development of Jio. Its entry into the Indian telecom market brought major changes to the industry and focused heavily on affordable internet and digital services.

This made me think about the importance of understanding customers and adapting to changes in the market.

Leadership and Long-Term Thinking

I also became interested in the management side of business. A company cannot grow only through money and resources. It also needs leadership, planning, teamwork, decision-making, innovation, and the ability to adapt to change.

Another thing I find interesting is the importance of long-term thinking. Business is not always about getting immediate results. Sometimes, companies need to invest today to create opportunities for the future.

This story made me more curious about how businesses are managed, how leaders make decisions, how teams work together, and how new ideas can help a business grow.

Why I Chose BBA

To gain a better understanding of business and management, I chose to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). During my BBA, I got the opportunity to learn about different areas of business and management. It helped me understand that behind every successful company, there are different people, departments, strategies, resources, and decisions working together.

My interest in business and management continued to grow through my studies and experiences. The story that I initially read in a newspaper became one of the things that encouraged me to look at business from a different perspective.

More Than a Business Story

For me, this story is not only about a businessman or a large company. It is also about vision, resource management, planning, innovation, and turning challenges into opportunities.

It inspired me to learn more about the business world and motivated me to continue developing my knowledge of business and management.
